LEETONIA ALUMNI ASSOCIATIONWe'd like to know what you think about our web site. Please leave your comments in this public If you do not wish to publish your email address or have any questions
CommentsKWonderful memories came flooding through my mind when I opened this web site. I think it is a wonderful idea to save the bell tower. I especially like the memory walk made from the bricks of the old high school. I support this project and look forward to hearing more about it. Marlene Miller Tassi class of 1959
CommentsMy sister Susan Snyder forwarded your web site, and it is really impressive. I've downloaded the LHS picture to use as wallpaper to remind me of what a great high school we had. A number of us also attended the first four grades in that building, so a lot of good memories will be torn away. Thank you so much for all your efforts. I look forward to hearing more about your plans. Mary Ann Theil Morgan mariannmorgan@hotmail.com
CommentsI think it is a good idea . I would like to help keep bell tower from being lost forever . You need to let more people of the different year's know what is going on and you will get more support . ALan Hinten Class of 76 fumble@raex.com
CommentsThroughly enjoyable. It's a great job and a credit to your computer skills. I will give the address to all my classes here in Japan. Many have computers (Japan: about 40% of population but growing)and are interested in Ohio by way of my teaching them. Just as Memorial Day was started by ordinary people who cared 141 years ago, this project illustrates that it's the same today. Honored to be from LHS. Ray Goerig
CommentsI love the new school and I agree with the bell tower project.
CommentsI love this web site, I love the look of the new school and I agree with the bell tower project, I went to school in leetonia before me my mom before her, both her mother and father,Leetonia is a big part of my life and always will be. batmanshafer@yahoo.com Hope Batman-Shafer Class of 1994
CommentsThis project is a thoughtful and unique way to add a much-needed sense of history to the new Leetonia school. Thanks, Cookie, for your caring and creativity, and thank you to all the committee members, for your time and hard work. Susan Theil Snyder and Bill Snyder
CommentsThis Internet site is a wonderful tribute to the old LHS building and football field. The superb photos bring back many fond memories. I would love to see some photos from inside the school including the hallways, classrooms, gym, etc. Congratulations for creating this terrific site on the web. Best wishes. Richard B. Prior, Ph.D., Class of '59 e-mail: prior-2@medctr.osu.edu
CommentsLooks great to me -- I applaud those working on this project. My check will be in the mail shortly. Sincerely, Marian Holt Cross mcross@austin.rr.com Class of '46 Teaching Staff '62-'63
CommentsHi, Everyone, As a 1964 Leetonia High School graduate and someone who is very thankful to have grown up in Leetonia, I wnat to thank Linda "Cookie" Steele for all the hard work and talent that she has expended on this wonderful project. I will be happy to do anything I can to help, and I hope many other Leetonia and Washingtonville students, past and present, will show their support in any way they can. Sharon Cope Parrish
CommentsI commend you on a great web site. I am totally in favor of the bell tower and all that accompanies it. As a member of the last graduating class from the old school on High Street (1937) I wonder if you have also considered a momento from that building. Perhaps a stone from the building or walkway. I do not know what is available. I will watch the web site for progress in the endeavor. Good luck. Dorothy Arnold Gray
CommentsWonderful! So many wonderful memories! Thanks to all who have worked so hard on this project. The Bell Tower is a must. Margaret (Peggy) Rankin Rittenhouse Class of 1945

CommentsI wish all the best . shelly keister altman
CommentsCount me in. Advise what I can do to help. The project sounds terrific. The area needs a shot in the arm. Leetonia will have something that no other school in the area will have. The proposed square is well thought out. It ties all the schools and their classes both past and future together. Where do you plan to locate this square? Great job in laying out this web site. Enjoyed reading the comments. Advise. Ira mellingeri@cs.com
CommentsAlthough I know live far from Leetonia/Washingtonville, the well-done site brought me back immediately. Great photos! Alumni Square is an excellent example of what can be accomplished when a community pulls together. Praise to everyone involved for working to preserve the history of our schools. I wonder, however, if any thought has been given to incorporating any memories of St. Patrick's School into the Alumni Square? Many Leetonia students were there for kindergarten (Mrs. Olmsted rocks!) and again for fourth grade in the 1970s and 80s. Anthony Snyder Class of 1988
CommentsTony, No plans were included for St. Pat's or South Side. They torn down Orchard Hill before this project was conceived. We are looking for anyone with information on the old South Side building as well as the old-old high school. Linda Steele Alumni Square Chairman
CommentsGreat project and I enjoyed the website! I was very happy to see Mr. T's name in the list of those to be honored. You should have my check by now. Fundraising suggestion: small wooden replicas of the High School and Washingtonville Elementary. Replicas of Orchard Hill and St. Pat's have already been sold. Judy Solmen Brown (class of '74) judybrown@voyager.net
CommentsOctober 28,2002 Thanks for the fond memories I just experienced. Even though we moved to Florida in 1962 after my brother Johnny Altman graduated, I have always been invited to reunions of my 1965 grads, many thanks. We love being a part of the memorial brick wall. The bell must be preserved. Beautiful web site, thanks for all your hard work. Joyce Altman Reed e-mail:JReedfla@aol.com
CommentsVery impressive. Your website is artfully done. It's nice to know that Leetonia is utilizing modern technology to spread the word. Sincerely, Kate Marshall Class of 1968 but graduated with class of 1967
Commentsfrom Shirley(Holt)Sprague LHS 1945 Am enjoying the new website. Thankyou very much.I sent the homepage address to Peggy(Rankin)1945 LHS Rittenhouse in FL.She emailed me that she couldn't contactyou on her computer.Whatis her problem? I printed some of the material to send to her,but she wants to be a part of the Alumni group. Her email address is marrit@worldnet.att.net Can you reach her? She will appreciate it,I'm sure.
CommentsJust finished reading the various comments and it brought back memories of my years in the various Leetonia schools. The web site is great and for those who conceived the idea I commend. One of these days I hope to come and see the new school for I understand it is lovely. Polly (Rankin) Mollenkopf, class of 1947.
CommentsSehr schoen gestaltete Homepage. Herzlichen Glückwunsch ! Viele Gruesse aus Waldmohr/Pfalz (Germany) an Mrs. Linda Lutz Neiheisel und alle Besucher dieser Homepage. Hermann Neuheisel, hneuheisel@t-online.de
CommentsPerhaps a translation (loose)of the above message would be appreciated. It is from a distant relative of mine in Germany that I directed to the Alumni site. You have created a very nice homepage. Sincere congratulations. Many greetings from Waldmohr in the Palatinate of Germany to Linda Neiheisel Lutz and all visitors to this homepage. Hermann Neuheisel --- Linda Neiheisel Lutz 1965
CommentsI give credit to the committee for taking on this very meaningful memorial. Our old high school will soon be destroyed and we will now have something tangible to see and remember. God bless Jackie Batcha and George Trombitas! Tom Nentwick...class of 1973
Commentssweet site dudes.. i found the old pictures of the past very interesting.... good site .. drew mason class of 2003
CommentsI am so glad I found this site, I think this should be something the community pulls together for and helps out with all they have, I am willing to help do my part, I am so sad to see these buildings go as much as I love the new school and am so proud of it for our kids, it was just a big part of our past as well as our parents. Keep up the great work!!! Also if anyone knows where we can get the little wooden buildings of the school I would appreciate your help, love the new ornament too. Go Bears!!! Debbie Compton Burns class of 79
CommentsI really enjoyed your web site. It brought back some old memories. And I think the bell tower project is great.Randy Leonard Class of 1972
CommentsBell Tower Pewter Ornaments and T-Shirts can be ordered from this website, look under projects. They may also be purchased from Farmer's Bank in Leetonia and Sky Bank in Washingtonville. Or for more information, contact Linda Steele at 330-502-5563.
CommentsI don't usually sign guest books...Miss Wilhelm's admonition "Fools names and fools faces are always seen in public places" has stayed with me for a lifetime...I did enjoy looking through this website and reading other guest book entries, particularly those from early '60s graduates. Thanks to the alumni leaders for putting this site together ! Doug Hauer '65 (dthbjh@aol.com)
CommentsFrom someone who grew up with LHS in their backyard, it it a pleasure to be able to get online and show other folks what I looked at daily out of the kitchen window. The building itself brings back many a fond school memory, but in a larger sense it was part of my territory. From selling Kool Aide at age 5 to the older kids, to watching Honda Wade roar off on his Dream in '66 , street dances when Summit St. was still dirt. Hey, 175 Walnut St. was a pretty cool place to grow up. Kudos to your efforts, you'll probably never know how many people you have touched. Jim Weikart Class of 1972 - elibot@aol.com
CommentsI think some one or several have logged a lot of time, and have a great web site for we people from BEAR country to bring back memories. Say`s Old Ed Exten, class of 1948. (edfrx10@localnet.com)
CommentsPAUL T. MURPHY CLASS 1947 2209 E. GILWOOD DR. STOW, OHIO. 44224 330 688 2118 P T OMURF @ AOL.COM.
CommentsWonderful site.Great memories of a good school system. Class of 1955. Mary Driscoll Hough.mrhough@raex.com
CommentsI love the new school and I just wanted to see the webpage because I saw the advertisements and t-shirts at the Washingtonville Pharmacy. laura fast 2004
CommentsThe web site is great. It has brougth back alot of good memories. The new school looks great. Keep up the great work on all of the great prodjects. David Guy class of 65 email daguy@cannet.com
CommentsIt's sad to see the old HS go but the new school looks beautiful. I'm very excited to see the new football field! Hopefully, something special will be planned for the 1st game..maybe alumni football players, cheerleaders & band members leading a parade from old to new? Jill Farmer Ervin Class of 1976
CommentsEven though i live in bakersfield calif i look at leetonia web page all the time .i miss leetonia and washingtonville. and i cant believe how different it looks now . looks great . i want a tshirt plz let me know how i can buy one from out of state shelly keister altman class of 1986
CommentsI think that the Alumni Square project is a wonderfully nostalgic undertaking. I also "vote" that the LHS time capsule should be opened at the dedication ceramony for the Alumni Square. That way it would be shared with a larger number of people.
CommentsTo everyone who worked to put up this site, well done. I've enjoyed viewing all the various pages and especially the many comments. I did not graduate from LHS but I did go to school at the old South Side school and then attended LHS for my first two years of high school. I would have graduated with the class of 1955 but instead relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where I still reside. I hope to attend a class reunion and see some of my classmates again. Bill Beavan
CommentsMartha K Gilmore ( Nicholas ) class of 1962 Great new school for the residents of Leetonia to be proud of. GO BEARS
CommentsThank you for the dynamic views of Leetonia village. I hope this web page will contribute to your cause. In the 'LHS hall of fame,' I suggest to broaden your focus from athletics. Maybe name people that have had an impact on the world; outside of Leetonia. I will visit this page often to see current events. Steven Stepien LHS 1995. Currently attending University of South Florida Tampa Bay, Florida.
Commentsim very proud of leetonia lhs im only a 4th grader but its wonderful ilove school my friens my teachers so ilove school alot we need beter lunches though
CommentsYour site is well organizied, easy to use and refreshing. Thanks for your efforts to help keep LHS alumni connected. LHS will always be unique. I've seen a little bit of the world and it's been fun. In my travels I've been surprised as to how many fellow travelers I've met who have been from Ohio. There's something special about growing up in Ohio. It's a certain mindset; a solid midwestern practicality, industry and willlingness to be open to others. Growing up in Ohio is good but growing up in Leetonia and going to school at LHS developes a moral character that every alumni should be proud of. It really is the heart of America. Ray Goerig, Class of 1970 Ray Goerig, LHS Class of 1970
Commentssaving the bell tower was a great idea!!!! That is going to look so nice when it is finished. the bell tower is a big part of our little town........Jessica Painter class of 2000
CommentsHello! Graduate from 1995! Site looks great...can we sign up for notifications on the mentioned possible fundraisers?? As some others have mentioned, I now live in Chicago, and visit home as often as possible, as I spent many of my best years in those hallways and rooms. Nothing like playing Eukre in Sr. Study Hall!! Good to see Steve, also a '95 grad on the site!! Great job! Thanks! Becky Smith (now Rynes)
Comments5/30/03 Hi, Just found out about this site last night when I revisited my past at the street fair, and a few watering holes. Enjoyed seeing some classmates. We do not wander all that far, do we? The book is really great! Did not know "Flossy" had been a teacher that long. She surely was great. It was fun seeing us all so very young and ready to conquer the world. It is hard to believe it was so many years ago. I dont feel that old, will not comment on if I look that old. I hope to see some of you at the next reunion. Keep up the good work, and I will check back on occasion. Feel free to contact me if you wish.
Comments5/30/03 Hi,Spent last night reliving my days at LH s by going to the street fair, a few watering holes and seeing some classmates. It was a great night for me. The project is a wonderful idea. We need to keep our past alive. Anyone else remember how we did not like the little town of Leetonia because there was nothing to do? And now, we appreciate it for what it was/is .. a wonderful place to have been raised! The web site is awsome. Marge Kenndy Lerussi Class of 56. mlerussi@raex.com
CommentsYou've done a great job with the page. I love seeing the pictures of the schools. It was emotional to see the high school torn down after it had been our focal point from our kitchen and dining room windows. My Mom (Nedra Rettig) already misses seeing the students and hearing the band practice outside. Lisa Rettig Smith Class of 1983
CommentsLoved the pics of the new high school. The pics of the old HS brought back memories. Jeff Splitstone class of 73
CommentsHaving been away since graduation in 1970 (retiring from the Navy after 22 years and now living on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi)I finally made it back to Leetonia in June 2003. The new school is simply amazing and the web site is truly a professional accomplishment. I've all around the world but driving the streets of Leetonia after all these years brought back a lifetime of memories. I can't say that Leetonia is as breathtaking as the Straits of Magellan, but my "Faded Photographs" are again in focus. Glenn G. Jones class of 1970 glennjonesg@aol.com
CommentsHello: My father went to LHS. I used to spend my summers in Leetonia. i hang around with the Garloughs (darren, Harry, Mr. Mrs). My father's name is Dick Gabriel. Thnx! John Gabriel Johnbank23@hotmail.com
CommentsGreetings to the Leetonia Bears, I'm so very proud to be an Alumni after looking at the amazing, yet beautiful Alumni Square. What lovely plans for the future. I just wish that I was closer to be of more assistance to you all. I'll forward a donation towards your efforts in making this reality come true to honor those mentioned above. Keep up the fantastic work!!!! Leisa Holisky Class of 1978 (and organizing our 25th reunion this November.)
CommentsWould be great to have a "corner" of the site devoted to Leetonia Alumni and current contact info (e-mail addresses mostly)... Would be wonderful to be able to contact old friends to create new memories! If the person wanted to be listed, they could send their name, years attended Leetonia schools, and current e-mail address to be listed in the section... Future possibility???
CommentsLooking good.
CommentsBravo!! Well done. The site is wonderful!! Thank you for the memories about some very special years. Kathy Goerig Class of '68
CommentsI enjoyed the tour through this web site. The old photos are great and the new school is impressive. I come back to Leetonia periodically to see my folks and I always drive through town to see what all has changed. Driving down Walnut St. and seeing that old LHS building gone is very strange. John Bell. Class of 72.
CommentsReally nice website!! Susan (Johns) Fast Class of 1973
CommentsHello there!. My husband Ken,came across your site while looking for something else on the net.My name is Frances Tharp, (nee Burgess ) and I used to live at 175 Walnut Street,Leetonia, opposite the high school,I lived there from 1958 until 1969 when I got married and returned to England.During my time in Leetonia, I attended Washintonville,Orchard Hill, and Leetonia High School. I did not graduate so my name does not appear in any "class of list", however I still have my "Leehiscan" book and looking through it from time to time it brings back memories,I still remember a lot of the students that were there with me,a few that come to mind are Cindy Weikart, Susan Trenkelback,Tom entriken,Patricia Ann Marshall, and Jana Dean Longbottom, there were others but to numerous to mention them all.My sister Jackie Prior, still lives in Leetonia out on Crestview Road, and she e-mailed me ealier this year about the high school being demolished, but did not mention anything about the Alumni web site. We think that you have done a great job producing the site, and your ideas for the Alumni Square are well thought out,and the use of the various stones from the old buildings is a nice thought.I`m going to ask Jackie to get me a couple of your t-shirts,and we will visit the site regularly to keep up with progress. Anyone reading this who wants to get in touch please do we`d like to here from you. Frances Tharp ( nee Burgess) class of 69. e-mail:-- lofty1941@onetel.net.uk
CommentsThe web site looks good. Alfred J. Stancato Class of 1948 aljanst@ameritech.net
CommentsThis is a beautiful site. A job well done to whoever did this! Linda (Holisky) Oxley (1966)
CommentsWONDERFUL MEMORIES FLOODED THROUGH MY MIND AFTER LOOKING AT ALL THE PICTURES, AND WHEN I OPENED THIS SITE UP! I THINK THIS IS WONDERFUL TO SAVE THE BELL TOWER. I WAS UP AT THAT SCHOOL EVERDAY WITH ALL MY FRIENDS, AND WENT TO THE GREAT FOOTBALL GAMES. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME MORE PICTURES OF THE CLASSROOMS AND TEACHERS PLUS SOME OF THE STUDENTS. " GO BEARS I LOVE YOU FOREVER AND ALWAYS" CHELSEA BAGLEY CLASS OF 2000-2001 Ivymagenta19@yahoo.com IF MY FRIENDS READ THIS E-MAIL ASAP I LOVE YA GUYS!!!!!!
CommentsNice meet you. My name is Masatoshi Ishida in inuyama city aichi prefecture in japan. I am learned english conversation by mr. Ray Goerig. He was graduate from your school. He is excellent man. Thank you, Good by.
CommentsThanks for the memories. Great website! If I may, I would like to offer a 33 1/3 RPM recording of the LHS Band, recorded at their Spring concert May 15th, 1959 (Wow--44 years ago). Directed by Karl Meinhardt. If anyone is interested, it is yours for the asking. Would prefer it go to someone who would appreciate it for the sentimental value, or maybe there is a Historical Society that would like to have it. Lovetta (Kitty) Heberling Flitcraft Class of 1956 Feel free to contact me at: KFlt911@aol.com
CommentsI think this site is a nice idea because every one can see all over the world! My name is Yumi Ozeki in japan(Inuyama city). This web was introduced from Mr. Ray Goerig who graduated LHS and my English teacher now. I would like to visit Ohio and LHS some day. And I wonder if I experienced the real LHS life. Yours truly,
CommentsI love the website. It is great. Recently I drove by the old high school and was shocked to see it gone. Lots of great memories there. The new school is beautiful, but the old LHS had tons of character and stories. It's great to see that this website has pictures of it. Thanks a lot! Kobi Briggs (Mitchell)-Class of 94. kab@esmet.com
CommentsBoy I guess I've been gone too long. Twenty-four years to be exact. I didn't know the old school had been torn down. The last time I saw it standing was in 1992 when I came back to bury my mother. When you leave your birthplace you expect it to be just like you left it. When you go back you see what time has done to it. I recall walking up the hill on the cold snowy days and the rainy ones, too. Time may take away the schools and the town. It will not, however, take away the four years of the up and downs known as Leetonia High School. I haven't seen any commments from any Class of 63 members. Charlie Welling e-mail Chs552@cs.com
CommentsI enjoyed visiting your website. I`m Japanese and Ray Goerig is our teacher. He suggested we might visit the site to see his old school. It`a beautiful building. It must have been great to go to school there. You have so much open space. I was amaged at all the open space & green areas. We have learned a lot about your country and Leetonia from Mr.Goerig. Mr. Goerig is a great teacher and a civil diplomat. I think you can be proud of him. Some day I`d like to visit Leetonia & see the "Coke Ovens" museum.
CommentsWill there be a reunion for the class of 1984? I have looked on the Classmates site and no one has posted there regarding a reunion. I can be reached via email vmull(at)carolina(dot)rr(dot)com Thanks. Vonnie (Rosnick) Mull LHS 1984
CommentsIt has been bittersweet to see the old schools make way for the new Leetonia k-12 building. In one sense it is nice to see a new facility for the young people in the Leetonia /Washingtonville / Franklin Square areas... in another sense, it is reassuring to see the old victory bell relocated so that future classes have the joy that I did in ringing it! Thanks to all that help make it happen. David J.Goerig, LHS Class of 1976
CommentsI enjoyed this site very much and it sure reminds me of the wonderful days spent in the halls of LHS. I look forward to our 30th reunion! Natalie Reel Young, Class of '76 natalie266@yahoo.com

CommentsThis site is greatly appreciated. All of you are doing a wonderful job. I really enjoyed the pictures of the old school. I spent 5 years there. My last year was spent in the new school. The memories flooded back though when I looked at the old school. Thank you SO much for adding them! So proud to be an alumni bear. ~K~ class of 2003
Commentsvery nice, it brings me a memory about my friend.mugu@lagos.com
CommentsThis is a wonderful site! I was saddened to see the high school torn down but the new school is wonderful. I have many wonderful memories of growing up in Leetonia. I no longer live there but go back often to visit my family and always enjoy it. I now live in Akron and miss the smaller community. Sara Shetler, Class of 97. Sarashetler@yahoo.com (any former class mates please feel free to send me an email. Would love to hear from you)
CommentsLoved the website. I am so happy that Alumni Square is being built. I was really devastated when I saw that spot where the old HS used to be and am so gratified that some things will be saved. I am especially happy to see that Jackie Batcha and George Trombitas are being remembered. They were both great LHS staff. (Ethel)nka Johnny Marshall class of '73

CommentsTo the Leetonia Alumni Association, I have just been browsing through the Web-site and I had a stong sense of nostalga as I viewed the old pictures. I thank you. the Alumni Assoc. for preserving some of the past. I will alwys hold to the memories that I have of L.H.S. Even though I now live 2700 miles, in Nevada, from Leetonia-I will always be a Leetonian. Thank you, Kim Gibson, Class of 1974, gibby815@hotmail.com

Commentscynthia painter 64 - great job with the website, could not find info about the alumni breakfast
CommentsI am very impressed with the website. Congratulations to the Alumni Association on an incredible job of incorporating special memories and archives (especially the old bell tower) from the previous schools into the new school. I am very much looking forward to visiting the new school on my next trip home. Ron Potesta-Class of '82
CommentsWhat a nice surprise to visit old times in Leetonia. Thanks for putting together such a great web site. Carol A. Greiner (Vespasian), 17 Berkshire Dr., Farmington, CT. 06032 carolgreiner@sbcglobal.net
CommentsThanks for all the information your page gives us. I missed the date for the 2005 reunion. Was that given somewhere and I missed it? Location? Thanks for including that next time. Harold Bauman, '40
CommentsI was only at Leetonia for three years of my life but they were good ones. It is nice seeing the pictures of the new school but even better to see the nice things being done to remember the past. The students and faculty were great to work with and I think of everyone often. Greg Johnson, LHS Principal 89-92
CommentsI will always have many fond memories of High School. I was still in school in the old building but watched my brother and sister transtion into the new one. I helped out with the band for several years so I got to see alot of the new building and really like it. I'm a Missile Maintainer for the US Air Force out in Minot, ND now. Spiritualguitarman@hotmail.com John "Rusty" Yoder '01
CommentsWhat a GREAT website! When you live away from "home", (Leetonia will ALWAYS be home), it is a special treat to just sit back and drift through your photographs of the town. It brings back a simpler time in my life, when I would spend the summer days at the ballfield by the creek,(is THAT still there???), and then walk home in the dark and know that my parents were sitting on the front porch swing. It was a Beaver Cleaver childhood, and I value that more than you would ever know. These are tremendous things you are doing..the preservation efforts, this website, and I am proud to be considered an alumni. Kirby Reese, class of '68....kreese1864@aol.com
Commentswell you know i really like and love the new school but again i also miss the old school and wish i was still there.....well nothing else to say!!!! sincerely, Randi Bell(10th grade)

CommentsGreat web site. Its nice to see the names of old classmates and would be even nicer to see more information on alumni and teachers, past and present. The pictures are great. Keep up the good work. David Rodrick, 1972, davidlrodrick@yahoo.com
CommentsEnjoy the website! Please do keep the all high school alumni dinner scheduled for August 27. My plane reservations are made and the Class of 1945 is planning to not only attend the LHS dinner but we are planning a special gathering the next day for the class to celebrate our 60th anniversary of graduation. Margaret (Peggy) Rankin Rittenhouse
CommentsEven though I still live near Leetonia, we tend to become so busy with our daily lives, families, etc...that it is difficult to keep in touch with those we shared most of our first 18 years with! It is awesome to have such a great website which can help to bridge some of those gaps. Thanks for all the hard work, it's a great site and I will continue to check it out from time to time. CommentsSubmitted 7-2-05 by Linda (Majewski) Lorimor from Mountain View, California, Leetonia High School Class of 1969!!! -SO PROUD!- My sister Barb (Class of '66) in Florida told me to check this site out. I haven't been through the whole thing yet, but the pictures of the high school made me cry, as I haven't seen it in years. It was still standing the last time I was "home," which was in 1991. I have such wonderful, fond memories of my time there, both at the high school and "growing up" in Leetonia in general. Though I haven't been back in a long time, hopefully someday I'll make it for a reunion or. . . just because I love that place! It will always be "home"!! All the best to everyone! -Linda:-)
CommentsWonderful site, keep up the good work. Brings back lots of great memories. Leetonia will always be home. We loved reading all the comments from LHS Alumni. John (Class of '65) and Linda Kornbau Vrabel (Class of '66), Chandler AZ
Commentslove the way the new school looks but it still not like the old school. James "Jimmy" boston class of 2000
CommentsAs an exchange student from Australia, I spent a year at Leetonia High School in the year 2000. This website was a good chance for me to reminisce looking at the photos of the old school. The new school looks amazing! Looking forward to visiting one day to see it with my own eyes. Sarah Roe 2000
CommentsVery nice web site. I've added it to my favorites. Pat Leach Beede, class of"55.
CommentsWow!!! The NEW Leetonia High School is pretty impressive. The current students should be so proud to attend such a nice school. I graduated in 1984, and when I look at the pictures of the old school, it brings back so many memories. If I could return to 1984, I would return to Leetonia High School in a heartbeat. It's a place that I will always call "home". Judy (Taucher) Weiss
CommentsLeetonia high school rocks it`s better than any other school around here. I am in 9th grade i have been here for 2 years and I think it rocks.
CommentsVery Nice! Well Done! Mike Mahouski 81
CommentsI was touched to see these pictures. The last time I saw my school standing, I was at a funeral across the street. I miss that place, and all the great times we had. Terese Mohn (Baker) class of '89.
CommentsI had submitted a comment about a year and a half ago, and I thought I would inform anyone wanting to get in touch with me that my E-mail address has changed.....it is now kreese1864@msn.com Thanks! Kirby Reese, Class of 1968
CommentsI think this is a cool site and i cant believe how much leetonia has changed since i went there in 83 well i love this site
CommentsI attended Washingtonville and Orchard Hill and would have attended LHS that fall had we not moved to Minnesota. I was shocked to see that the high school had been torn down but from the pictures of the new school it looks amazing. Keep up the good work on the website! Cassandra (Johnson) Mast 1984
CommentsHI. Just wanted to say the new school looks great. Miss everyone from the class of 97. Anyone from that year wanting to chat can drop me a line steffmonchichi@yahoo.com Steph Prater Campbell class of 97
CommentsI was just told about this site and find it interesting to say the least. I also just found out the high school was torn down. Memories!!
CommentsMy mother, Mary (Bell) Rodacay, graduated from LHS in 1938. She is now deceased but her memory lives on as I read about her classmates, school and so many wonderful times. Mary Rodacay Saniga - Pennsylvania
CommentsI didn't see anyone from '93 here, but I thought I'd ask anyway...does anyone remember the time capsule that the 4th grade class at Orchard Hill (the only class of three not at Washingtonville) buried in front of the big rocks? We got on the front page of one of the papers when we buried it. I guess it was forgotten when we graduated, and probably bulldozed when the new school went in. If anyone has any information, it'd be interesting. Sam Shirey '93
CommentsI just wanted to say I love the website it brings back many thoughts of youth, which at times seems so far away. The only thing I see that is missing is a way to get in touch with classmates and friends, maybe a where are they now thing. also is there going to be a reunion for the class of '94? thanks......Hope Batman-Shafer class of '94
21:53:08 CommentsThe new school is very nice. I was very upset to see the old school torn down. There were a lot of great memories in that high school! Memories won't be forgotten though. Erin (Perkins) Newburn 2000

Although I didn't graduate from Leetonia High School, I attended South Side, Washingtonville for one year, and Orchard Hill up through 8th grade. Many happy memories! The new school looks impressive.

20:40:09 CommentsI haven't been to Leetonia in 12 years and when I see pictures I see how much I miss it. I'm so glad there are pictures of all the schools, so I share them with my son. Good luck with the Alumni Square and I hope to make there someday.
03:07:40 CommentsI would like to know what happened to the class of '88 Karen Wyatt Sims
06:40:44 CommentsI enjoyed the pictures and am glad for this website. I would like to suggest the addition of information concerning the school's history. I believe a tornado took the bell tower off the top of of Washingtonville Elementary when my brother was attending. Also, I believe the Old High School was a project of the Works Progress Administration during the great depression. Thanks for posting the pictures.
